Channel the romantics, won’t you?
This post on The Cool Hunter - with its wood/plaster ceiling - made my heart swoon. This idea of unveiling secret surprises is so wonderful and juxtaposing some aged timbers into a contemporary interior has been done with great success by Architect Álvaro Leite Siza Vieira, who calls it “the work of my life”. It didn’t surprise me to learn that he did this in his own house – where we are often able to be our most courageous.
The jeweler Annoushka collaborated with sculptor Manuela to create her collection which features seeds bursting out of golden pods.
And Vogue also used this same sort of ‘torn’ unveiling idea in fashion spreads of the past.
A lot of desirable effect created with curlicues of white paper!

Stunning Imaginative. Beautiful.
And the magazine layouts are curls of fun!
I think the most courageous thing we did in our home was painting our living room Benjamin Moore “Poppy.” I had a vision one night: I was sitting in the living room reading; at the time the room was a light coffee color. I looked up from my book, the name of which I don’t remember now, and thought to myself I must rise and seek out Susan who was in the bedroom reading and tell her of the vision I just had-looking up I saw the room glorious in its new color! And, it is!
