I have been quoted in today’s Daily Mail on some recent photographs I saw of Gaddafi’s fantasy interiors and adore the daughters’ bed.
It is pure theatre and I doubt it is meant to be funny, but you have to agree it is so very amusing and surreal. It instantly reminded me of the work by Rex Whistler.
Other parts of the house and grounds were sadly less than impressive!

Unlike the tacky images above, even with their chandaliers and Persian carpets the Revolutionary Leader’s tents weren’t vulgar. One could imagine his Arabian mares happily giving birth to their foals ( a la Landseer?) there.
