OK, just back from a quick NY jaunt and, you know that’s going to mean a few shop windows. We’ll start with Barney’s…where I never seem to buy anything.
Clever windows by Sheldon, Mindel & Associates…although we’ve talked about this newsprint thing to death I think so lets not dither too long…
Next was Joe Grillo and his Fluorescent Scented (lumps of stuff really). I wasn’t entirely convinced.
BUT…WAIT…because right next door was a REAL aesthetic gem. A sort of Chris Ofili meets Huxley. I was entirely delighted with this (and yes, its a construction site). Am thinking to brand it as Gen-U-Ine New York Pigeon Poo…(or should I say dung? or guano?) with deep Huxley-esque connotations (the ‘message center‘!) and enter it for the Turner Prize?????
It’s so completely lovely…….and thank you sweet doorman who got in trouble for letting me in to photograph it!
I was recently reminded about my days spent as a catwalk model. Eons ago in the mid 1990’s I was asked to model for Comme Des Garcons. I duly arrived in Paris as instructed, the location escapes me, it was at one of the many Parisian Institut’s, but I do recall the most incredible murals within, the most beautiful ornament as often found in French public buildings. The day was wonderful, fashion and interiors-one could call it heaven.
Putting some final touches on Decorex, not that we are going to let you in on the surprise naturally! But we have titled it The Decorex Foyer…Magnificent Obsessions: An Illusive Reality by NH Design.
Hope that’s a teaser…and the only other hint I will drop is that it’s really got me on a silvery slope…
One simply cannot beat silver buildings.

It’s worth checking out blog which is full of genius.
In further contrast still are these ‘huts’ of drying cork… is this wabi sabi enough for you? I know, we were talking silver, but this is what happens on the creative journey!
