When I was 15 I put visiting Jim Morrisons grave in Pere Lachaise cemetery on my ‘to do’ list…I did, and it didn’t disappoint. Yet I still rolled my eyes when told I was visiting Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, New York this spring….and guess what, it didn’t disappoint.
Cemeteries just ARE incredibly picturesque. I mean just take in for a minute how the bronze doors of this mausoleum have washed and stained the marble steps a patina green.
And of course finding a Twombly, is always up my alley…(he was a Vanderbilt after all)
Am I Canadian or what?…and I think I’m in love again, its that darn ‘barn’ thing…

You cannot erect a ‘stained glass barn’ comprised of burnt sugar, call it art, and expect me to look the other way William Lamson whoever you are.

Well I know you are a young Brooklyn artist, and I know I am a fan! I just adored your installation at the Storm King Art Center during my recent visit. I think it’s completely genius!

…and your ‘Last Light‘ installation…an ‘attempt to capture that ephemeral light of early summer‘…oh my goodness. I’ve got my eye on you…and I know I’m not alone.
How exciting to see a preview the cover of ‘Designers at Home‘ by Ronda Carmen and available now for pre-order on Amazon! Both Nicky and I are thrilled to have been profiled in Ronda’s book and hope readers are as eager to see the inner sanctums of her favorite designers and read how they live and entertain…aesthetic voyeurism being a favorite past-time of us both naturally!! Designers At Home by Rizzoli will be available April 2013.
