Autumnal news…did you catch this in House & Garden September issue. Nicky has designed a bed in collaboration with Savoir Beds (and if you haven’t slept on a Savoir mattress you really MAY wish to try it!!). It was launched at Harrods 18th September. Sinuous lines in burnt orange velvet……fit for one VERY chic princess indeed! Or prince for that matter. The headboard will also be available in several other fabric options.
Available through Savoir Beds and Harrods where it is on display on the 3rd floor.

Vanity Fair special issue September 2014 features THE 2014 International Best-Dressed List among which (again!) is Nicky Haslam. don’t miss page 278 featuring Mario Testino’s Urban Legends shoot and his ‘street of dreams’ shot of Nicky and Natalie Massenet. Nicky says it took Testino all of a split second to capture this fantastic moment.

and by the way Nicky - didn’t we say men-in-fur was common??!! oh that was so last year - do keep up!!
My designer de jour…featuring their toile de jour…London Riot Toile that is.
It’s hard not to adore toile….Especially when it’s served up with a cheeky edge like SS2013 collection from Sister by Sibling. Their salon show at Somerset House featured both men’s and women’s versions of the riot-toile.

Of course I will be wearing this!!
Are we the only family that adores burnt toast…first there’s the smell, and then the taste!! Yes course all that char is NOT good for one but surely the joy factor supersedes a little carcinogen sin…and anyway most importantly eVERYthing just LOOKS better when burnt. I know we’ve discussed this before…‘Burning Desires’

I am the proud owner/wearer of Giles Deacons Fall 2012 burnt blouse…you can only imagine the look on my face when I first saw it……sleepless for days.

Rather makes one wish they’d bought the entire collection….

Just start googling burnt things and you’ll find several hours have gone by!

You can ‘chic-it-up’ too, with a little resin or gesso.

Japanese architect Toru Shimokawa of stad has used carbonized cedar in a most sublime of executions…there really is NO end to this line of beauty.
